ActionAid International Uganda (AAIU) is part of the ActionAid global family, an anti-poverty agency working with the poorest communities in over 40 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America to end poverty and injustice together.
ActionAid has been working in Uganda since 1982 when we started working in Mityana Sub-County, Mubende District.
Since then we have expanded our operations throughout Uganda as part of our long-term commitment to working with the socially and economically disadvantaged.
We have offices in Apac, Kalangala, Katakwi, Kampala, Kumi, Masindi, Mubende, Namutumba, Nebbi and Pallisa. We currently direcly support over 324,484 families representing 17% of Uganda’s poorest population.
We support 51 partner community based organisations, non government organisations, civil society networks and alliances working on a number of poverty eradication initiatives in over 24 districts.
