ActionAid is a global movement of people working together to further human rights and defeat poverty for all.

Anjana Luitel

I am a youth activist advocating for social justice. I juggle my role between being a Facilitator empowering Scandinavian youth at ActionAid's Global Platform in Nepal while being an activist myself.

I've been involved in the youth movement of Nepal since 2007 and I'm one of the core members of Activista who firmly believes in the power of youth. You may also find me in the streets of Kathmandu protesting against corrupt governmental systems and motivating young people to be the agents of social change.

Having published a poetry book, I dream of writing my own novel. I can be seen reading a book at odd hours and at odd places. Born into the middle class family with two sisters my motivation in being in this field is to challenge and change the ongoing feudalistic practices and patriarchal system that governs the Nepali society.

I'm highly motivated by the quote:

It's always morning somewhere in the world

I'm really optimistic that positive change will come if we start it with ourselves. And the other quote I really like is

Be the change you want to see in the world

I am starting this process of positive change myself by leading different youth led initiatives in Nepal.
