We are continuously expanding. In 2009, ActionAid Afghanistan opened three new development areas. We are previously working on 6 specific geographic locations in the country we call as Development Areas or DAs.
Currently, we have our development areas in Chimtal (DA1), Murdyan (DA2), Dawlatabad (DA3), Balkh (DA4), Shurtepah (DA5), Kwajah Du Koh (DA6), Bamyan (DA7), Jawzjan (DA8) and Kaldar (DA9). These DAs are scattered in our four regional offices in Jawzjan, Balkh, Kabul and Kandahar as well as satellite offices in Ghazni and Kunduz.
Our work in these areas is through direct implementation except for Kandahar, Khazni, Kunduz, Sorubi and Musahi where we are working with local partner organizations which belong to these specific areas.
