Across the Globe, people are returning to local, more sustainable sources of food.

In Australia, the demand for organic produce is outstripping supply, while AFAP and ActionAid programs across the world demonstrate time and again that investing in local food economies ensure that communities are more resilient to external shocks like climate change.

But can localism address the multiple challenges of the global food system?

In spirit of World Food Day we will be posing the topical question to our expert panel:

"Can local food movements and cooperatives solve the global food crises"

Moderated by prominent journalist and media personality Tracey Spicer, Our international panel of experts will include:

> Bijay Kumar – ActionAid, Head of International Emergencies

> Bill Pritchard – Economic Geographer and Associate Professor, University of Sydney

> Julian Lee – Activist and General Manager at Food Connect

> Nobukhosi Neube - Zimbabwe Shared Futures Project Coordinator, accompanying smallholder farmer, Sarudzai Nyakusekwa

Delicious, locally sourced produce from Food Connect, will be served up by Rosada's Kitchen.
