Volunteering is a great way to be a part of ActionAid's work and develop your skills and expertise.

If you would like to volunteer for a role in our Sydney office, we would love to hear from you.

All available roles are advertised as we do not keep applications on file.We encourage applications from all backgrounds and age groups. Most roles require you to commit to at least one to two days a week, during standard working hours, for three months or more.

Current volunteer opportunities

Communications Volunteer

ActionAid Australia is looking for a communications and campaigns supporter to play a key role in our community engagement activities.

You will be mobilising the community through contributions to media stunts, rallies and traditional communications work.

You will be using your communications, enthusiasm and media skills to help communicate on development and human rights issues. 

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Community Engagement team with planning and executing media stunts;
  • Developing communications materials;
  • Research;
  • Contributing to the development of creative concepts.  

You will need to be available to join the team in the Sydney office two days a week for a period of at least three months.

The successful applicant will possess:

  • A friendly and positive attitude;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • A passion for international development and women’s rights.
