Cambodia is ranked 9th amongst the most disaster vulnerable countries in the world, frequently being hit by floods, storm and droughts which cause large scale economic losses and often result in loss of human lives. Capacity of communities and local authorities in the country is low and little is known about how to prepare for and reduce disaster risks. To tackle these challenges ActionAid Cambodia has engaged in Disaster Risk Reduction since 2007 and is currently leading a consortium of ActionAid, DanChurchAid and People in Need to implement an ECHO-funded project titled “Building Disaster Resilient Communities in Cambodia III”.
