ActionAid is a global movement of people working together to further human rights and defeat poverty for all.

ActionAid is leading a consortium of five international NGOs working on Disaster Risk Reduction across the country. Funded by EUR 2.3 million from the European Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department, the project runs until the end of 2015.

As well as its coordination role, ActionAid is working in Banteay Meanchey province with local partners CHRD and Ockenden Cambodia.

We are helping 101 villages conduct hazard vulnerability assessments, while supporting Village Disaster Management Groups to properly plan and prepare for emergencies in cooperation with provincial, district and commune officials.

We are also working on ‘women’s saving for change groups’, a community banking and microfinance initiative to help women help each other.

The 'Building Disaster Resilient Communities II' project consortium also includes DanChurchAid, Oxfam, People in Need and Save the Children, plus 10 local NGO partners.
