“Graduation” of Youth Program II and training for Youth Program III was held from 5th to 16th, July, in Beijing. The whole event included a team-building session, a “graduation” ceremony, and interaction between the young practitioners of the two years, lectures and closing gala. In the following days, the "graduates" of youth practitioners will head for AA China's development areas to start a one-year field volunteering work.

 

Youth Program is a regular program of Actionaid China, aimed to cultivate young people to be more qualified and experienced social workers by sending them to work in Development Areas and providing them all-round direction.

 

On June 3 and 4, Actionaid China Wushan DA Office provided emergency kits, sports items and drawing kits to children in Dongping Village in Tange County and Zhangping Village in Mali County.

At the same time, basic training in first-aid knowledge was provided to ease the children’s anxiety. Besides, Actionaid China also helped local residents to fix their water tank and provided emergency foods to relevant families.

 

On May 31, Actionaid China organized a celebration event for the International Children's Day for children of the tent school in Yatouping village in Nanba county in Pingwu county. Every participating children recieved a gift in the event.

 

On May 22nd and 23rd, Actionaid China relief workers distribute rice, medicines, infant foods, education items for children and sanitary items for women (25 items in total and 32,086 yuan in value) to refugees in three villages in Naiba Town, Pingwu County, Mianyang City.

 

AA China distributed 10 tons of rice, 202 cantons of salt, 100 buckets of edible oil, 2000 meters of waterproof tent clothing and food, sanitary items for women, etc. (totally 79,771 Yuan in value) to the villagers in 5 villages in Cifeng and in Longmenshan township.
