The El Niño weather pattern has caused a huge emergency across countries in East and Southern Africa, Asia and Central America. As a result 60 million people currently need aid and the figure could rise to 100 million by the end of 2016. People are suffering severe hunger and water shortages as crops fail and livestock dies from the extreme weather exacerbated by climate change.
Women and girls are amongst the worst affected but we believe they also hold the key to responding to this crisis. We are currently working in Cambodia, Ethiopia, India, Malawi, Lesotho, Somaliland, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe to respond to the growing emergency.
