The cooperatives having 25 members each and a total of 750 modern beehives are  benefiting landless & unemployed youths and poor women. Members were selected based on their poverty status in consultation with Women Affairs Office and Youth & Sport Office.

The project is meant to improve income, employment, nutrition and natural resources management in the area. Government offices of agriculture, Cooperative, Women’s Affairs and Youth and Sport Affairs have been technically supporting the members to ensure sustainability of the project. The concerted efforts from all mentioned actors succeeded in improving members skill on modern beekeeping and cooperative management. Production of honey has started and the  prospect is positive.

The project has been established around rugged and degraded land where crop production is not suitable. Plantation and rehabilitation component of the project contributes for the betterment of the  environment which needs more work in the future.
