My story

Joshua Kahindi Pekeshe is a village elder from Mulunguni village in the Dakatcha Woodlands.

He and his wife farm cassava, maize and pineapples to feed their family and sell at the local market.

He is leading the community's opposition to a biofuels plantation proposed by an Italian company, which plans to export biofuels to Europe.

If the plantation goes ahead, over 20,000 people will lose their land.
