In the past decade the frequency and severity of conflict and disasters in Africa has increased. The Gambia and Guinea-Bissau are no exceptions to this unfortunate situation. During the period of our current strategy (CSPIII), we will deepen our understanding of the nature of emergencies and disasters through research, networking, learning and sharing at local, national and international levels.
Our focus is on disaster and conflict prevention and capacity building of different stakeholders with emphasis on the communities and partners. We support victims of disasters and conflicts to recover and return to normality in partnership with other development players. We also establish a strong network on disaster and conflict prevention and response at local, national and sub-regional levels.
