From 13th November, 2017 to 18th November, 2017, ActionAid International Leadership Team (ILT)
Members of the ILT, following their meeting, were hosted by ActionAid Ghana.
It involved a debriefing session with senior management as well as members of ActionAid Ghana’s Country Leadership Team (CLT) on ActionAid Ghana’s work in the country.
Following this, staff members interacted with ILT on the new global strategy, Action for Global Justice, and were given the opportunity to have an intimate dialogue as well as clarify some issues and question on the new strategy.
A high-level debate and conversation with other CSOs at the Mensvic Grand Hotel, Accra was organized and moderated by Board Chairperson of AAG, Prof. Ken Attafuah and lead by three panelists; Franklin Oduro, Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Democratic Development (CDD), Nehemiah Attigah, a digital expert and CEO of Hatua Tec Ltd as well as Dr. Stephen Manteaw, Policy Analyst at the Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC).
The panellists discussed the political context of Ghana in relation to CSOs engagement, youth movements in Ghana and its organisation as well as the influence of the digital revolution and finally, economic rights to land and extractive resources in Ghana respectively.
The weeklong visit was topped by a visit by ILT to members of the Young Urban Women’s Movement (YUWM) at their centre in Kpobiman.
