Join ActionAid International’s Programmes and Global Engagement Women’s Rights - Team as the Programme Funding Advisor and you will be part of a global team helping people use their own power to fight poverty and injustice. Coordinate ActionAid's regional and global online advocacy and campaigns presence and advice countries on digital strategies. You will play a key role in mobilising funding for ActionAid’s Women’s Rights (WR) work as prioritised by the International Platform. You will develop programme funding strategies for the International Platform’s Women’s Rights work including for long term work and emergency response. You will identify and coordinate multi-country opportunities/ proposals and work with fundraisers across the federation to focus on programme funding for work that closely aligns to the platform priorities. Provide advice and oversight of funding for the women’s right portfolio. Support strategic EU proposal development for single country opportunities, aligned with the Women’s Rights (WR) priorities agreed by the International Platform.
You must have very strong proposal writing skills, and ability to adapt to the demands of diverse donors and their requirements, demonstrable experience of leading successful multi-country complex bids, experience of successful, evidence based proposals and tenders to institutional donors, particularly the EU and demonstrable knowledge and experience in social justice and women’s rights, with a very keen interest in feminist activism, advocacy and integrated programming on this theme.
A good understanding of major trends in the fundraising environment for international development (and preferably, specifically for human rights based / women’s rights work) and experience of donor accountability including to major institutional donors is essential.
You must at least have a Bachelors’ Degree in women rights or gender studies, social sciences, humanities, development studies, human rights or relevant discipline and have substantial experience with public speaking and
business writing for at least 2 years.
