ActionAid International Kenya (AAIK) is a National Non- Govermental Organisation ( NGO) with a National Board and  Management Stucture. We work in over 16 Counties  in the places where we can make the biggest impact. We tackle poverty and denial of human rights at the local level, and we challenge the causes behind them locally, nationally and globally. We work with in solidarity with women and people living in poverty and exclusion; connecting their voices, sharing ideas, spreading inspiration, campaigning, advocating and formulating public policy to eradicate poverty and ensure social justice.

  1. Closing date for applications: 

    The Gender Responsive Alternatives on Climate Change Project is a multi-country project and will be implemented in Tangulbei Local Rights Programme in Tiaty sub-county, Baringo County, Kenya. This Gender Responsive Alternatives on Climate Change Project will build women’s leadership capacities in disaster risk management, strengthening accountability by all actors to affected communities, build women led community protection mechanisms and provide alternative livelihoods models. 

    The project will contribute to achieve the following 3 main outcomes: 

    Outcome 1: Women in Tiaty Sub County, Baringo County, Tangulbei Local Rights Programme have increased capacity and knowledge to prepare for and respond to gender-related risks of climate change and related crises.

    Outcome 2: Women take collective action to influence and engage in Baringo County, national and international (which includes regional) policy, planning and decision making on climate change and related crises.

    Outcome 3: A gender-responsive framework established and launched in 2018 to strengthen women’s voice and leadership in climate change and related-humanitarian crises. Evidence/ experiences from Tangulbei shall be used to inform the design of the framework.
