What we do

We work with people in rich and poor countries to end poverty and injustice.

We want a world without poverty, where nobody has to go to bed hungry.That's what we campaign for, and that's what inspires us every day.

We have over 30 years of knowledge and experience working with poor communities, and yet every day we're learning the solutions from the people we work with.

ActionAid International Kenya is a non-partisan, non-religious development organisation that has been working in Kenya since 1972 to end poverty and injustices.

ActionAid International Kenya is among the leading anti-poverty agency working directly with over one million poor and excluded people in over 16 districts of Kenya.

ActionAid Kenya's work revolves around six thematic areas namely; Education, HIV and AIDS, Governance, Women’s Rights and Food Security.

    We work in villages, cities and the corridors of power to support groups that are campaigning to reverse the devastating impact of HIV and AIDS on millions of lives.

    The constitution process remains the key area for ActionAid Kenya's Governance theme this year, with most of the projects in the theme geared towards addressing this important process.

    We’re helping people to better anticipate, reduce and manage disaster risks by incorporating risk reduction measures in development.

    Our People for Change programme promotes and facilitates collective learning and action by global citizens.
