The constitution process remains the key area for ActionAid Kenya's Governance theme this year, with most of the projects in the theme geared towards addressing this important process.
ActionAid Kenya has carried out several activities aimed at informing the communities we work with in understanding and interpreting the Constitution of Kenya.
ActionAid International Kenya is also very involved with the push to safeguard provisions touching on basic and women rights as well as on devolution.
In order to ensure Kenyans secure a progressive and people-centred constitution that will secure rights and reduce poverty, various groups have been reached including the youth, women and special interest groups.
Other initiatives implemented under the theme aimed at alleviating poverty and delivering services to Kenyan people from public institutions, are being pursued. Overally, the intervention under the theme is through two main projects:
the Social Accountability Project
the Multi-country Education and Advocacy project which critically examines the roles of International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Kenya.
