Chesty Gbongon

He has some 20 years media experience working within both the public and private sector in several capacities, including news editor/director at the state-owned Liberia Broadcasting System and radio producer of the Talking Drum Studio, a production entity of Search for Common Ground, an international NGO involved in peacebuilding and conflict transformation in Liberia.

Before joining ActionAid Liberia, he served as Communication Coordinator with the international NGO Conservation International (CI) in Liberia.  He is a member of the Press Union of Liberia, an umbrella organization of professional journalists and media workers in the country.

Mr. Gbongon holds a Bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Liberia College  (now the University of Liberia) in Monrovia. He has also acquired other professional trainings and traveled extensively in and outside Liberia, including the United States of America.
