Korto Williams is the Country Representative of AAI-Liberia, joining ActionAid in 2007 as Women’s Rights Coordinator. Most recently, she worked as Programme Manager of the organization.
She has some 10 years of development experience working on post-conflict reconstruction and women’s rights issues in Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti and Burundi. Before joining ActionAid, she worked with a variety of development institutions, including the US Agency for International Development, the UN Development Programme and the International Foundation for Education and Self-Help, as well as with a number of local NGOs.
Ms. Williams holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development from the School of International Training (now the SIT Graduate Institute) in Vermont, USA. She is also a certified Cognizant Technical Officer (USAID), a published writer and a feminist.
