Women's Land Rights in Southern Africa
The Women's Land Rights (WOLAR) in Southern Africa project is a collaborative effort between NiZA, ActionAid International's Africa Regional Office, Country Programmes in Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe and the Non-Governmental Organisation Coordinating Council in Zambia. It is funded by the Dutch Government's MDG3 Fund. This report is the result of baseline surveys carried out in each of the project areas/countries. The consolidated findings reveals pertinent information on the legal and policy environment in all five countries; narrates women's experiences with regards to land rights; based on what the women want, articulates potential springboards to the realisation of women's land rights and concludes with baseline trends and key conclusions for the project and beyond.
