ActionAid Malawi works with communities to promote attainment of quality basic education as a right for all vulnerable children.
We work with national level CSO networks, district education networks, mother groups, girls clubs, parents and teachers in 13 of the 28 districts found in the country to ensure that girls particularly from rural areas access quality basic education.
We strengthen the capacity of rights holders to effectively demand from duty bearers the fulfillment of their rights: engaged with education authorities in equitable deployment of female teachers particularly to remotest schools which did not have any lady teachers.
We support mother groups in districts where we work to bring girls back to school. We also Influence the modification of bad cultural practices so that they do not impact negatively on girl child education.
