Chiradzulu district is among the top 3 districts with high HIV/AIDS prevalence rate in the southern region of Malawi.

Chiradzulu Local Rights Programme was established in 2006 and works through Center for Alternatives for Victimized Women and Children (CAVWOC) as a partner to manage its activities. Chiradzulu LRP work focuses on women’s and child rights whilst mainstreaming education, HIV/AIDS, Food and nutritional security and governance.
