The impact of the RBA intervention of AAN & SLF on right holders is the right awareness of women and capacity building of women to advocate their rights who are facing injustice. Bhim Kumari Sharma, 55, is an activist and active member of Mahila Adhikar Manch and handled more than 15 cases of VAW and supported for 2–3 complex cases for legal remedies.
She is an activist who has conceptual clarity of the women’s issues and problem. She thinks it is difficult to take the whole responsibility by Mahila Adhikar Manch in case of domestic violence and injustice to women. She thinks that organization is important and movement is necessary through group formation, awareness rising to get the ultimate right of women. But the movement is not fully successful due to the financial problem.
Bhim Kumari is handling an important case of domestic violence against Ramaladevi of Sirsikot, Syangja whose parents are from Saraukhola, Parbat. Ramaladevi got a love marriage with her husband 5 years back she gave birth of child. Later on her husband got second marriage and tried to kill her several times. At last, her husband pushed her at Ramdi River with her infant child to kill her. Now, the husband is escaped and MAM of Sarunkhola, Parbat is helping ramaladevi to take legal action against her husband and bring him to justice. Next case she is handling is that the family members help their son to escape when a girl was pregnant of 8 months. The girl had registered a court petition 17 years back however still she has not got justice.
Bhim Kumari is devoted activist for women rights. She thinks the main hurdle to the women rights activism are particularly; first is political parties at local level are not supporting the women activities and second is husbands inside the households are not supporting their wife at the Saraunkhola. She herself has a bitter experience in life which motivated her to work in favor of poor (dukhi) women. Her marriage was held at the age of 9 years. At the age of 12 years, her husband kept her in gambling. He scrupled her if she even talked with a man. She didn't feel comfort with her husband when she was young and stayed separated with husband and worked at Hetauda Kapada Udhyog for 8 – 10 years when she was 22 years old. Now, she is staying with her sister.
