ActionAid reaction to Indian PM Modi's address to Paris climate talks

Reacting to Indian PM Narendra Modi's address to the Paris climate conference, Harjeet Singh, ActionAid's Climate Policy Manager, said:

"Modi reminds developed nations of their responsibility to cut emissions and guarantee finance and technology to support developing countries.  300 million people in India have no access to energy and roughly one third are living in poverty.   Rich nations calling for a common finish line on emission cuts are forgetting that the playing ground was never level to begin with. They are now unjustly shifting their responsibility to countries like India at a time when those countries also want to eradicate poverty and adopt a better standard of living like developed nations have done."
