ActionAid is a global movement of people working together to further human rights and defeat poverty for all.

Where We Work

In the last eleven years we have expanded our long term Local Rights Programmes programme from two States in 2002 to four States in 2004 and 12 States in 2011.

Working directly with the constituencies of the poor and excluded communities, ActionAid Nigeria has reached over 141, 091 people (88,358 women and girls, 52,733 men and boys) working in 197 communities and 39 Local Government Areas in twelve States. We work with seventeen independent registered organisations as partners in Gombe, Bauchi, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Kogi, Kwara, Ondo, Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Kebbi, Delta and the Federal Capital Territory. We also support networks and coalitions of poor and excluded people. These include Joint Association of Persons with Disability and National Alliance Against Hunger and Malnutrition. Through our work, people are now aware of their rights and are demanding for accountability and social services from their governments.
