ActionAid is a global movement of people working together to further human rights and defeat poverty for all.

What we do

ActionAid Pakistan's rights-based programmes and policy interventions focus on promoting women’s rights and gender equality, securing peoples' right to food and livelihoods, citizens’ right to just and democratic governance, and promoting peace and human security in emergencies, disaster and conflicts.

For the realisation of its objectives, ActionAid Pakistan works on multiple tiers – from grassroots, to district, provincial and national level engagements. At present, we are working in more than twenty geographical areas (Local Rights Programmes-LRPs) in partnership with local civil society organisations.

The vision and dream of the country programme is to make a difference to the lives of the poor people who have been excluded from the development process.

We believe that development that benefits only the privileged is in fact regression that leads to inequality and injustice.

Development can only be justified if it benefits the poorest people and gives them power to take control of their lives.
