Alex grew up in Africa, living in Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe before finishing her schooling in the UK and raising her four children there. She has been a journalist for more than thirty years working across the world in many difficult regions such as Libya, Iraq, Somalia, South Sudan, Egypt, Gaza, CAR and the DRC.
Alex is currently working as foreign correspondent for Sky News and has I have been living in Johannesburg with her family for the past five years.
She ran her first marathon last year, and decided that the Two Oceans would be her next challenge.
“I want to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged women as well as raise the profile of ActionAid’s work. I want more people to realise they can make a difference by raising funds and giving these women choices, making them safer and empowering them to change their lives.”
