ActionAid works in partnership with the communities of Thulamela.
Our partnership focuses on supporting communities to address issues related to poverty and HIV and AIDS in which the rights of the poor and excluded, particularly women and girls, are promoted and realised.
In order to ensure that the poor access their rights, it is important to work in partnership with all stakeholders, including local government and support staff at public institutions. Our work in the province is in Thulamela, considered an agricultural basket due to its fertile soils and tropical weather, with a population of about 584,563 people in 126, 688 households.
