Women hold an important role in the development at different levels: family, community and society. However, there is still an issue of gender inequality in Thailand, and domestic and public violence are being seen every day in the society. In addition, women and girls do not get proper information on available protection and support mechanisms provided by government and the private sector. Please help them have their own rights to live with dignity in the society.
Modern agriculture in Thailand has expanded rapidly through heavy investments in agricultural machinery and chemicals. This quickly leads to many negative effects that make many farmers worse off, such as land loss to bigger businesses, debt, misuse of natural resources, lack of marketing knowledge, and health problems. It is now time to change the Thai agricultural sector and farmers to learn and adapt what is the real happiness to their lives.
ActionAid Thailand is committed to ensuring that children in remote areas have access to quality education and enroll in a school nearby their homes. With support from ActionAid on networking and capacity building, the Small School Network, the Committee on Alternative Education, local partner, and ActionAid has called on the government to reconsider its policy on small schools. We are also working to improve the quality of education in schools, teacher capacity, and engaging communities in local decision-making on school management and governance.
