Education
We believe that access to free, quality and relevant education is a right for all Ugandans. With our local rights partners, networks, and alliances we aim to influence policies that can guarantee access to universal education. Our work mostly focuses on issues relating to girl-child education.
ActionAid Uganda works with excluded groups and their organizations including girls, orphans, children with disabilities, children in conflict and women. Our main objective is to influence the attainment of the universal right to free quality and relevant education for all through networks, alliances and our critical engagements. Our work focuses on research and developing alternative models to ensure more effective education delivery, especially during conflicts and emergencies. We mobilise and organise community initiatives to promote and uphold equal access to education for girls in line with Uganda's UN Millennium Development Goals targets for gender parity.
