ActionAid is a global movement of people working together to further human rights and defeat poverty for all.

Nebbi Field Office works in eight districts in the West Nile region. This large area of coverage results from the recent merger between ActionAid and MS Uganda in January 2010.

Nebbi Field Office and its partners' work focuses on four main themes including the Right to Education, Women Rights, the Right to Life and Dignity in the Face of HIV/AIDS and Governance.

ActionAid’s has nine partners in the region that run, among others, Governance and anti-corruption programmes with Koboko Civil Society Network (KOCISONET), Mayank Anti Corruption Coalition (MACCO) and Nebbi District NGO Forum (NDNGOF). Women’s Rights and HIV/AIDS partners include the Women Won’t Wait Coalition, The Pacego Women’s Club (PWC), The Apalala Women’s Group (AWG), Mungujakisa Nyandima Reflect Group (MNRG), People Living with HIV/AIDS Role Model Group (PLWHARMAG) and The Nyapea Safe Motherhood and Child Care Association (NSMCCA).

ActionAid Local Rights Programmes in Nebbi maintain strategic relationships with the districts and civil society coalitions engaged in the field of education, women’s rights and governance. In all interventions, ActionAid and its partners target women and girls living with HIV/AIDs and those suffering of violence and/or who are survivors of violence. The office also supports community groups that are involved with orphans and vulnerable children, organisations concerned with local, traditional and political leadership.

Nebbi Field Office has been in operation for the last 9 years and will be marking its 10th year anniversary in 2011.
