    Masvingo Magistrate Dorothy Mwanyisa on Monday 23 January 2012 acquitted the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) and its senior official Joel Hita on charges of organising a photo exhibition in Masvingo in Masvingo Province showing the 2008 election brutality. Zimrights is a partner to AAI Zimbabwe under the governance theme.

    The Bulawayo Magistrates Court has dismissed the police denial of clearance of Bulawayo Agenda meetings in Tsholotsho and Lupane. Bulawayo Agenda is a strategic partner in the AAI Zimbabwe Governance Programme.

  • ActionAid International Zimbabwe (AAI Zimbabwe), in partnership with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) Radio Zimbabwe station, is introducing a weekly radio programme aimed at promoting debate on issues of the poor and excluded communities in Zimbabwe. The programme will run for five weeks starting 26 October and ending 23 November 2011.

  • As the rest of the world celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March 2011, Action Aid International Zimbabwe (AAIZ), a non-governmental organisation which advocates for the rights of the poor and excluded people especially women says many women in Zimbabwe are food insecure because they do not have access to land and farming inputs.

  • ActionAid International Zimbabwe (AAIZ), an agency which is part of a global ActionAid International (AAI) family working with poor and excluded people in 52 countries in Africa, Asia, the Americas and Europe, is closely watching with horror and shock the Japan disaster which has happened following the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on 11 March 2011.
