  • We, the representatives of social and economic justice networks and organisations, having met on the 5th of October 2018 to deliberate on the Impacts on ordinary citizens of the joint Monetary and Fiscal Policy Statements presented on the 1st of October 2018, are:

  • ActionAid Calls for peace as election results are being announced

  • Women from all walks of life gathered in Harare to commemorate the International Women’s Day (IWD) which is held on the 8th of March every year. On 11 March 2015, ActionAid Zimbabwe in partnership with AIDS Counselling Trust (ACT) conducted a volunteer training on the Safe Cities Campaign for Women and Girls to mark the celebrations for the day.

  • As Zimbabwe joins the rest of the World in commemorating the Day of the African Child (DAC), children from Nyanga and Makoni Districts of Manicaland Province are calling on the government to deal with perpetrators of harmful cultural practices that are denying them their right to education and many other rights.

  • ActionAid Zimbabwe on Wednesday 6 November 2013 launched its Country Strategy Plan (CSP) for 2014-2018 amid the presence of key ministry representatives, partners, representatives from local non-governmental organisations (NGOs), international NGOs (INGOs), selected embassies and representatives from the ActionAid International (AAI) federation across the globe.

  • Three hundred and fifty  (350) households from Ruchera Ward in Nyanga District, Manicaland Province affected by flooding which hit the area in January 2013, have received temporary relief in form of food aid-   courtesy of ActionAid International Zimbabwe. 

  • Rural women from Local Development Programmes (LDPs) in Zimbabwe had a lifetime opportunity on 14 February 2013 to meet with ActionAid International Chief Executive Officer Joanna Kerr.  The women who were from six LDPs namely, Hwedza, Chiendambuya, Makoni, Nyanga, Saunyama and Nyamaropa, joined the CEO in “dancing” in solidarity with a billion other women worldwide as part of the  commemoration of the “One Billion Rising” Campaign which seeks to reject violence against women and girls. Hwedza LDP is in Mashonaland Province of Zimbabwe while the rest of the LPDs where the women came from are from Manicaland.

  • Human Rights Defenders (HRD)'s Alert

    23 January 2012

    Masvingo Magistrate Dorothy Mwanyisa on Monday 23 January 2012 acquitted the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) and its senior official Joel Hita on charges of organising a photo exhibition in Masvingo in Masvingo Province showing the 2008 election brutality. Zimrights is a partner to AAI Zimbabwe under the governance theme.

    The Bulawayo Magistrates Court has dismissed the police denial of clearance of Bulawayo Agenda meetings in Tsholotsho and Lupane. Bulawayo Agenda is a strategic partner in the AAI Zimbabwe Governance Programme.

  • ActionAid International Zimbabwe (AAI Zimbabwe), in partnership with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) Radio Zimbabwe station, is introducing a weekly radio programme aimed at promoting debate on issues of the poor and excluded communities in Zimbabwe. The programme will run for five weeks starting 26 October and ending 23 November 2011.

  • As the rest of the world celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March 2011, Action Aid International Zimbabwe (AAIZ), a non-governmental organisation which advocates for the rights of the poor and excluded people especially women says many women in Zimbabwe are food insecure because they do not have access to land and farming inputs.

  • ActionAid International Zimbabwe (AAIZ), an agency which is part of a global ActionAid International (AAI) family working with poor and excluded people in 52 countries in Africa, Asia, the Americas and Europe, is closely watching with horror and shock the Japan disaster which has happened following the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on 11 March 2011.
