Team Assistant – Humanitarian Actions and Response Team

6 Months Fixed Term Contract

Location: London, UK

Provide general administrative support to ensure the effective and efficient working of the team, with a flexible and adaptive working approach that enables fast response at times of emergency. Maintain excellent systems and takes an overview of all team administrative processes to ensure they operate in the most effective and joined up manner, enabling team work. Through excellent administrative support enables countries to work together, tracks and follows up decisions made. Support, organise and minute all emergency country oversight groups, International Platform and team meetings. Provide general finance support to the team, monitoring team accounts and processing expenses.

Join ActionAid International’s Programmes and Global Engagement Humanitarian Action and Response Team as the Team Assistant and you will be part of a global team helping people use their own power to fight poverty and injustice. You will provide general administrative support to ensure the effective and efficient working of the team, with a flexible and adaptive working approach that enables fast response at times of emergency. Maintain excellent systems and takes an overview of all team administrative processes to ensure they operate in the most effective and joined up manner, enabling team work. Through excellent administrative support enables countries to work together, tracks and follows up decisions made. Provide general finance support to the team, monitoring team accounts and processing expenses.

You need to be calm under pressure and have administrative experience with excellent attention to detail, numerate and highly organised. Naturally good with people, you will have well developed communication, admin and IT skills. Excellent at multitasking you will also be a strong team player who is able take the initiative and prioritise workloads under pressure. Experience gained in the NGO sector would be an advantage. This would be a good role for someone keen to work in a fast-moving environment with a real desire to learn more about humanitarian work and willing to take up a variety
