International Court of Justice case statement

Mont des Arts lit up with remarkable projection demanding ceasefire

ActionAid says: “With this crisis approaching 100 days, we remain appalled by the staggering loss of life and scale of destruction in Gaza. For the past four months, we have continually called for any potential war crimes to be thoroughly investigated, for all parties to be held accountable for their actions and for international humanitarian law to be respected.

“The case before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) marks an important step in the journey for accountability, justice and peace-building in this crisis. It is vital that this process is carried out without obstruction and with full respect for international law and peace-building. We call on all governments to respect the process and the independence of the Court, and to uphold and abide by any decisions made by the court, including for interim measures to be implemented.

“We continue to call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, which is the only way to prevent further deaths and ensure enough life-saving aid can enter Gaza and reach those whose lives depend on it.”
