ActionAid is a global movement of people working together to achieve greater human rights for all and defeat poverty. We believe people iActionAid began working in DRC in 1987, providing humanitarian response to Burundian refugees who had crossed into Uvira. The organisation later responded to the needs of people affected by the 2002 Nyiragongo volcano eruption. It has since expanded operations to 15 locations in North and South Kivu provinces in eastern DRC, managed through its headquarter office in Goma. ActionAid also has a regional liaison office located in Kinshasa.n poverty have the power within them to create change for themselves, their families and communities. ActionAid is a catalyst for that change.
